The Director and Senior researcher of LSFRI "Silava" Jurģis Jansons – Kaspars Bušs' name prize winner

On January 18, 2022, the Director and Senior researcher of LSFRI "Silava", Dr.silv. Jurģis Jansons received Kaspars Bušs' name prize in forest ecology and forestry.

Kaspars Bušs' name Award is given by Latvian Academy of Sciences for the development and implementation of K. Bušs scientific heritage in the Latvian forest sector.

Kaspars BUŠS (1919–1988) – forestry scientist and researcher in forest ecology – developed theoretical foundations for Latvian silviculture and amelioration. The prize was established in 2019 in honor of scientist's centenary. The first recipient of the prize – Senior researcher of LSFRI "Silava", habilited doctor of forest science Pēteris Zālītis (2020).
