An excursion will take place in Rāzna National Park (https://latgale.travel/listing/razna-lake-national-park).
- We will meet at Andrupene farmstead (24 km from the Conference venue, 15 km from Dagda). Personal vehicles will be parked here, and the tour will be on the bus.
- The first stop will be the Piloru oak grove, which is one of the rare pure oak groves in Latvia, which was granted nature protection status as early as 1928. The oak grove is located near Lake Ežezers, which is the lake with the most islands in Latvia and the Baltics (https://latgale.travel/listing/piloru-oak-grove/).
- The second stop will be after a scenic drive along the Lake Rāzna, also called the Latgale Sea. Lake Rāzna is the second largest lake in Latvia. We will visit Rāzna National Park Nature Education Center in Lipuški (https://latgale.travel/listing/nature-education-center-razna/).
- The third stop will be at Mākoņkalns (Cloud Hill), which is located near Lake Rāzna (249 m above sea level). In Medieval times, the Volkenberg castle was situated on this hill – the oldest crusader fortress in Lotigola's (now – Latgale) land. The mountain offers a fantastic view of Lake Rāzna and the small Ubogova lake (https://latgale.travel/listing/the-cloud-hill-makonkalns/).
- The fourth stop will be at the Salāja Nature Reserve. A wonderful natural landscape has been preserved here, changed little by human activity.
- The tour will end at the Andrupene Farmhouse Open-Air Museum, where you will be guided through the museum and taste Latgale culinary heritage dishes (https://latgale.travel/listing/andrupene-farmstead/).
