The IUFRO Tree Biotechnology Conference helds biennial and is the official meeting of the IUFRO Working Group 2.04.06 (Molecular biology of forest trees). The 20th IUFRO Tree Biotech and the 2nd FTMB (Forest Tree Molecular Biology and Biotechnology) Conference was held on July 6–9 in Harbin (China).

During the conference researcher of LSFRI "Silava" Vilnis Šķipars presented the obtained results of research on the study of DNA regions regulating gene activity in Scots pine in poster Investigation of promoter regions in Scots pine using linear DNA amplification and massive parallel sequencing (research project Investigation of regulatory regions of Scots pine disease resistance genes).
