2023 02 13 LU 81 scientific conference

81st International Scientific Conference of the University of Latvia is going on from the middle of January till March. Several scientists of LSFRI "Silava" participate in the Conference with presentations.

In the sub-section of Zoology and Animal Ecology (Biology section), research assistant of LSFRI "Silava" Agrita Žunna reported the presentation "Genetic and kinship structure of the Latvian wolf populatio", researcher Jurģis Šuba participated with poster presentation "Discrete-time population growth model according to contest competition and spatially random distribution of individuals". Presentations are published in the Abstract Book of 81st Scientific Conference of University of Latvia, Zoology and Animal Ecology.

In the Conference’s Section of Geology, Geophysics and Palaeoecology researcher of LSFRI "Silava" Ilze Ozola presented study "Potenial of paludicultures in forming new peat layers and capturing carbon". Thesis of presentation published in Abstract Book of 81st Scientific Conference of University of Latvia, Geology, Geophysics and Palaeoecology.

On February 17, the combined Molecular Biology Section of the 81st International Scientific Conference of University of Latvia and 6th LABS Conference will take place, where researcher of LSFRI "Silava" Vilnis Šķipars will report the study "Attempted use of linear DNA amplification-based next generation sequencing for studies of flanking sequences of selected Scots pine genes".
