On October 21, Latvian State Forest Research Institute "Silava" organized the Latvian Forest Science Day in cooperation with the JSC Latvia’s State Forests and Latvian Academy of Agricultural and Forest Sciences. More than 140 participants took part in this event.

Latvian Forest Science Day is the tradition of forest research communication, gathering together Latvian forest scientists, practitioners of forest sector, policy makers, students and others. The seminar topic this time was "Carbon in old-growth forests during the climate change". The topic was chosen as the reference to European Green deal, to debunk myths about carbon in old-growth forests.
