Latvian State Forest Research Institute "Silava" hosted the annual European Researchers' Night on 30 September. More than 900 visitors attended the event.

There were various events and educational activities in that event:

  • European climate pact ambassador Daiga Zute visited Salaspils Secondary school and met students to present how everyone, by changing their habits, can help the forest and the climate.
  • Researchers Agnese GailīteBaiba Krivmane and Vilnis Šķipars of the Genetic Resource centre of LSFRI "Silava" presented the Seed bank, studies on in vitro culture and micro RNA, as well as the pine resistance against the root rot.
  • Communication specialist Ilze Zepa visited kindergardens and first classes pupils of Salaspils schools to duscuss the nature processes in autumn.
  • Visitors could get the information about Institute research and researchers profession in two exhibitions.
  • The ongoing studies of the divisions of LSFRI "Silava" were presented at more than ten cognitive stops.
