Market-oriented research supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia
The study aims to evaluate the productivity of mechanized forest restoration techniques used in practice and the cost of planting plantations in regenerating forest and afforested agricultural areas in different forest and soil types, as well as to assess the possible impact of the planting season on the quality of mechanized forest restoration in coniferous and deciduous tree areas in forest lands and afforested agricultural areas.
The task of the research is to develop forestry and economic criteria for the application of discrete operation mechanized planting and seeding technologies without prior soil preparation in forest restoration and to prepare proposals for technical innovations for the improvement of existing equipment to increase their productivity and the quality of forest restoration.
