Researchers of LSFRI "Silava" Aldis Butlers and Ieva Līcīte participated in the annual international workshop on greenhouse gas inventory in the land use and forestry sector organised by the Joint Research Centre in Ispra (Italy) on May 22-23.
The aim of the workshop was to facilitate the exchange of experiences on critical issues in the development of inventories and forecasting systems between land use, land-use change and forestry sector GHG inventory operators and other stakeholders, including representatives of the European Commission.
Aldis Butlers presented the report Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Drained versus Undrained Hemiboreal Forest Organic Soils on the results of studies on GHG emissions from reclaimed and non-reclaimed organic soils in the Baltic States.
