Research project Assessment and improvement of soil enzymatic activity for economically viable agriculture and forestry or their integration has been launched form April 1. Project aims to develop and implement the new, scientifically based methodology for assessing soil enzymatic activity as an early and accurate indicator of soil health and fertility, complementing physical and chemical analyses with biological indicators in Latvia. The methodology will be adapted to Latvian agroecological conditions to ensure its practical application in agriculture and forestry.
The kick-off meeting of Project took place on April 9. During the meeting the project partners agreed on the future work plan and visited the farm "Krogzeme". The meeting was attended by Kārlis Dūmiņš, scientific assistant of LSFRI "Silava".

The Project will contribute to improving soil health in Latvia, promoting sustainable resource use, and supporting the development of economically viable agriculture and forestry.
