On 20 January, the Senate of the Latvian Academy of Sciences approved the recipients of eleven named awards and five Young Scientist Awards. Among them, the Kaspars Bušs' Award in Forest Ecology and Forestry was granted to the Researcher of LSFRI "Silava", Doctor of biological sciences Baiba Bambe for her significant contribution to preserving Kaspars Bušs' scientific legacy and studying Latvia's forest and peatland ecosystems.

Additionally, the Young Scientist Awards of the Latvian Academy of Sciences were presented to the scientists of LSFRI "Silava":

  • Aldis Butlers, for his scientific work improving methods for greenhouse gas accounting and forecasting, and
  • Gundega Done for her research on the impact of cervids on forest regeneration.

LSFRI "Silava" warmly congratulates its colleagues on this high professional recognition and their contribution to the advancement of forest science in Latvia!
