Project partners of the pre‑defined project "Enhancement of sustainable soil resource management in agriculture" are Ministry of Agriculture, Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research, LSFRI Silava, State Plant Protection Service and University of Latvia.
Project budget is 1.83 million EUR, incl. Norway grant 1.56 million EUR and national co-financing 0.27 million EUR.
The aim of the Norway Grants Climate and Environment Program 2014–2021 "Climate Change Mitigation, Adaptation and Environment" pre-defined project "Enhancement of sustainable soil resource management in agriculture" is to contribute to the implementation of the sustainable agricultural land management solutions and the improvement of national soil data in the development and implementation of climate change policy in agriculture.
LSFRI "Silava" as one of project partners works towards implementation of activities related to establishment of soil carbon monitoring network in agricultural land and to development of GHG emission factors and drafting of proposals for the inclusion of the elaborated emission factors into the national GHG inventory report.
