Latvian State Forest Research Institute 'Silava' has won first place in the annual competition of field and forest trials and laboratories organised by the Latvian Academy of Agricultural and Forest Sciences (LAAFS). The top award was granted for a seminar held on June 12 in the Forest Research Station at Kalsnava, where the Institute's latest forest science research was presented.
The achievement was announced at a joint meeting of the Division of Agricultural and Forest Sciences of the Latvian Academy of Sciences and the Presidium of the LAAFS.
First place represents valuable recognition from fellow researchers of the Institute's scientific work, efforts to promote science and contribution to the development of the forestry sector. It also highlights the importance of cooperation and knowledge exchange between research institutions and industry professionals.
The trial seminar in the Kalsnava Forest District brought together forestry professionals to learn about the current research of LSFRI 'Silava' and its practical applications in forest management. Participants had the opportunity to explore the Institute's work firsthand, gain insight into its various research areas and discuss current issues in forest science.
